AAIM Announces New Data Center Project in Aurora, Nebraska

AAIM is thrilled to share exciting news about its latest development—a state-of-the-art data center in Aurora, Nebraska. This project not only reflects AAIM’s dedication to innovation and growth but also highlights the company’s strong commitment to sustainability, community partnership, and local economic vitality.
A Vision for Progress in Aurora
The new data center will be situated on a 2.5-acre site within the Mission Critical subdivision, part of a 135-acre property that was earmarked for tech-focused development more than a decade ago. This milestone represents a shared vision between AAIM and the Aurora Development Corporation (ADC) to turn strategic planning into tangible opportunities.
Set to occupy a 7,300 sq. ft. metal building, the data center has been designed with scalability and efficiency in mind. Initially, it will support 5 megawatts (MW) of capacity, with plans to expand to 15 MW within the first year of operation. AAIM’s CEO, Anthony Levesque, emphasized the project’s forward-looking design and the role Nebraska’s unique public power model played in the decision-making process.
“The fact that Aurora has long been invested in understanding data center logistics really stood out to us,” Levesque shared. “This community is a perfect match for our goals, and Nebraska’s nonprofit public power framework was another key factor. It allows us to build strong, sustainable partnerships.”
Partnerships Driving Local Impact
A project of this scale requires collaboration, and AAIM is prioritizing local partnerships at every stage. From working with local contractors to hiring employees within the Aurora area, the company is embedding itself into the community’s fabric.
“I believe in creating win-win opportunities,” Levesque stated. “By working with local subcontractors and contributing to the local economy, we’re making sure this project has a positive ripple effect across the region.”
While the data center’s daily operations will require a small, highly skilled team, AAIM also foresees indirect job opportunities through partnerships with local businesses. Beyond that, the company is already exploring additional ventures that could further boost the economic landscape in Aurora.
“When we set up shop in a community, we like to look for ways to diversify and identify other opportunities that complement our primary operations. Aurora is no exception, and our focus remains on long-term, mutual growth,” Levesque explained.
Sustainable Solutions for High-Tech Needs
Designed to support high-performance computing and other critical operations, AAIM’s new data center will operate as a co-location facility. Businesses will house their high-tech equipment in the facility, with AAIM managing everything from energy to infrastructure.
Additionally, the center was conscientiously designed to integrate seamlessly into the surrounding industrial zone. Noise, water usage, and other factors were carefully taken into account to ensure the data center respects its neighbors while maintaining world-class functionality.

Building the Future, Today
With construction underway, AAIM is optimistic about meeting its target to have the facility operational by the second quarter of 2024. The company is confident that the collaboration with Aurora’s partners, bolstered by their shared experience in winter construction, will help keep the project on track.
“We’re incredibly grateful for the warm welcome we’ve received from Aurora,” said Levesque. “The town’s commitment to this project has been invaluable, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for us here. This project is only the beginning of a shared, exciting chapter for AAIM and Aurora.”
This development represents much more than a data center; it’s a testament to AAIM’s commitment to fostering community connections, advancing technological infrastructure, and investing in people and places with untapped potential. Aurora, Nebraska, is now part of AAIM’s growing story—and together, both are powering the future.
